2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 24)
From December 2 to 14, the annual UN Climate Change Conference was held in Katowice, Poland. Representatives from nearly 200 countries deliberated the implementation rules of the Paris Agreement during the two weeks.
On December 13, the “Making Collective Impact of Corporate Climate Action” side event was held by CBCA in China Pavilion. Xie Zhenhua, Special Representative for Climate Change Affairs of China, Al Gore, former US Vice President and Nobel Laureate, Wang Shi, Board Chairman of Vanke Foundation and founder of C Team and Ai Luming, Executive Director of SEE Foundation delivered opening remarks at the event.
CBCA brings together representatives from different sectors including real estate, e-commerce, textiles, hydrogen energy, electric vehicles, and chain operations, and has established a business network of China to support climate actions. At the China Pavilion at COP 24, representatives from companies and industry associations such as JD.COM, BYD, China Federation of Industrial Economics and China National Textile and Apparel Council shared innovative cases on sustainable models such as green e-commerce, green transportation, green supply chain in the real estate sector, recycling of plastic bags in the delivery business, etc.
